Description: This mouse IL-17F ELISA Ready-SET-Go! Reagent set (with or without high-affinity binding microwell plates) contains the necessary reagents, buffers and diluents for performing quantitative enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA). This ELISA reagent set is specifically engineered for accurate and precise measurement of mouse IL-17FF homodimer protein levels from samples including serum, plasma and supernatants from cell cultures. The assay demonstrates parallelism in measuring recombinant and native mouse IL-17F proteins and a standard curve range of 15 to 2000 pg/ml. No crossreactivity to the IL-17AA homodimer is observed and <2.5% crossreactivity to IL-17AF heterodimer when spiked in excess (100ng/ml).
IL-17F is a member of the IL-17 family and a signature Th17 cytokine. Of the six IL-17 family members, IL-17F and IL-17A share the strongest homology (50% amino acid identity) and the two genes are located in the same chromosomal region. Although both IL-17A and IL-17F were originally found to be produced as disulfide-linked homodimers, recent studies have confirmed the production of IL-17A/IL-17F heterodimers in in vitro-differentiated and polarized Th17 cells. IL-17F and IL-17A have been observed in tissue samples from various autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, psoriasis, inflammatory bowel disease, and asthma. IL-17F treatment of airway epithelium, vein endothelial cells, and fibroblasts has been reported to induce expression of IL-6, IL-8, GRO-a, ENA-78, TGF-ß, MCP-1, G-CSF, GM-CSF, and ICAM-1.
