No. Size 23-0120-50 2 mL Description: Protein G is a bacterial cell wall protein expressed in group C and G Streptococci. Native Protein G can bind the Fc region of immunoglobulins and serum albumin at distinct sites along the molecule. However, the albumin binding domain has been removed from recombinant Protein G to minimize non-specific binding. Immobilized Protein G consists of recombinant Protein G expressed and purified from E. coli that is covalently coupled to resin. This product can be used to isolate and purify immunoglobulins from crude human, mouse, and rat serum, a variety of cellular samples, and tissue culture medium. The binding affinity of Protein G to immunoglobulin subclasses from various species differs from that of Protein A. Generally, Protein G exhibits greater affinity for most mammalian IgGs than Protein A.
