No. Size 14-8975-62 5 ug 14-8975-80 25 ug Description: Human IL-26 is a member of the IL-10 family first identified in T cells transformed with HSV (Herpesvirus saimiri). It is a 19 kDa protein that associates into 36 kDa homodimers and shares 25% sequence homology with human IL-10.The gene AK155 is expressed almost exclusively in T cells and are overexpressed upon virus transformation. IL-26 has been grouped as a Th17 cytokine as expression has been found with cells expressing RORγt (the master transcription factor for Th17 cells). Although not much is known about its biological functions, IL-26 is believed to be proinflammatory and targets epithelial cells. The receptor is made up of the subunits IL-20R1 and IL-10R2, and binding initiates STAT1 and STAT3 activation. IL-26 is also believed to bind heparin, and may remain bound to cell surface heparan sulfate proteoglycans. No mouse counterpart to IL-26 has been identified.
